Research and development activities (R&D)<\/strong> have always been a strong point of the Group. Therefore the company did many investments in this direction<\/strong> during the years. The R&D team is today composed of 34 persons<\/strong> further supported by specialised external consultant.<\/p>\n

Thanks to its research and development activity, the Company can constantly adjust its products to the customers need<\/strong> and maintain an advanced technological position in its reference productive sector. Fidias research develops in all the lines of activity<\/strong> of the Company.<\/p>\n

Fidia is strongly involved in public co-funded research activities<\/strong>. Fidia is currently participating in several projects funded by the European Commission, the Italian Ministery for the Economic Development and the Regione Piemonte. Such projects represent the opportunity of cooperating with internationally acknowledged universities and research centres.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Fidia <\/strong>S.p.A.<\/em> was founded in 1974 by two young engineers graduated at Politecnico in Turin and interested in minicalculators for industrial applications in automation, an important innovation in those years. For more than twenty years Fidia has been designing and producing Numerical Controls for the management of sophisticated machine tools for mould machining<\/strong>. In the following years it has increasingly expanded its market worldwide by opening subsidiaries in the most important countries. <\/p>\n

In the early nineties Fidia expanded its activity by developing the first high speed milling machines. Up to now 2\/3 of Fidia\u2019s turnover come from this business line.
